About KV Kutra, Sundergarh

Kutra is taken from the Sanskrit word which means “where”. Kutra in the District of Sundargarh occupies a very prominent position in the mineral map of India as it has rich resources like Iron ore, Manganese, Limestone, Dolomite ,coal etc. These deposits has led to the establishment of factories like O.C.L. Cement, O.C.L. Iron & Steel Pvt. Ltd., TISCO Dolomite mines (Gomardih),Shiva Cement Factory.Kutra is a village in the state of Odisha with Latitude 22.2333N and Longitude of 84.4667E .It is on the state high way No.10.The nearest tourist destination to Kutra is Rourkela. Other close by tourist destination include Seamdega, Kunkuri and Jashpur.The nearest railway station is at Rajgangpur which is at a distance of about 15 Km .The major station is at Rourkela, which is about 53 Km. The nearest Airport is at Bhubaneswar which is at a distance of 262 Km.Kutra starting developing after the opening of the Block. Since then the demand for opening of a K.V. was needed and demanded by the local population. Dreams turned into reality with the opening of K.V. Kutra on 06.08.2010 under the civil sector.Since then the vidyalaya started functioning in a temporary building sponsored by the State Govt. with single section. Due to the efforts by the KVS, the district administration has allotted 15 acres of land for the construction of KVS building at BUDAKATA about 4 (four ) Km west to Kutra. It is declared as a hard station with effect from 01.04.2012.
